Juneathon Day 5: 6.4 mile run: 451.1/1000 = 548.9 miles to go!

Really wish I had a paddling pool to jump in right now…!

I meant to go for a run this morning, when it would have been cooler, but as usual I got faffing and didn’t end up being ready until lunchtime. When it was BOILING. The hottest day of the year so far!

So my run – just over 10km today – was a bit hot and sweaty, and my pace was fairly slow, but I did sort of enjoy it today, which makes a nice change! I had some good tunes on my iPod and revelled in the shade/breeze when there was some. It’s funny how the heat makes things harder – it just seems to sap my energy, and it’s only the 5th June so it’s bound to get worse! Is there a real reason for this, or is it psychological? Or perhaps because I haven’t been training so hard lately (more likely!)!?

Pasty pasty white legs!

Completed Day 5 of the Blogilates Stretch Project in the garden today – today’s new move was ‘boat pose’ – it took me a few attempts to get it right and stay there for 30 seconds!

  1. I love the idea of a “juneathon” or other months. Catchy! I hope I can do 1000 miles this year. So awesome you’ll do it in a months time.

    • Oh I’m not going to do 1000 miles during Juneathon! The 1000 mile challenge is separate, Juneathon is just helping me get there 🙂 I’ve no doubt there are some crazy people who could run 1000 miles in one month, but I’m not one of them! I like these challenges because it gives me something to aim for. If I just ran three or times a week without a purpose, I think I’d soon get bored, but giving something a name and having a specific goal to aim for keeps me motivated 🙂
