3 mile run + 10.2 mile run: 236.8/1000 = 763.2 miles to go!

A double run for me today – and boy do I feel it now!

First, I did parkrun for the first time in what feels like ages. I wasn’t going to go too fast, but – as usual – the parkrun competitive spirit in me came out on the second lap. I finished in 27:07, which isn’t a PB but is still one of my quicker times!

The atmosphere was great today – it was so busy (over 300 runners!)! A Couch to 5k programme has just finished, so the ‘graduates’ came to do parkrun for the first time. It was brilliant watching people who’d never run that far before cross the finish line – the look of pride and achievement on some of their faces as they finished was awesome! It also made me think about how far I’ve come!

After parkrun, Becky and I drove to Studley, parked up and did another 10 miles! This wasn’t quite so enjoyable though…! I got through the first 5 or 6 miles OK, despite some evil uphill climbs, but for a few km in the middle my legs just gave up and I had to walk it out. I did get going again, but it was mentally and physically tough :-/

Still, another 13.2 miles in the bag! I’m doing the Warwick Half Marathon next weekend so I will be taking it easy this week!
